Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge is situated within an acacia grove 250 km (155 mi) south of Nairobi. Its construction includes many cultural features reminiscent of a Maasai boma (village).

There are wonderful views of Africa’s Highest Mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, it’s snow-capped peak rising to 5,895 m (19,341 ft) just over the border in Tanzania.

The lodge has 92 en-suite rooms, 17 pairs of which have interconnecting doors making them ideal family accommodation.

From the al-fresco restaurant you can watch the wildlife visiting the water-hole. Buffets and barbecues have an international flavour and also, of course, you can enjoy the very best Kenyan dishes prepared with traditional ingredients and cooked in the authentic manner.

Adjacent to the large swimming pool and sun-deck are attractive well-tended gardens where vervet monkeys can often be seen.

The resident naturalist conducts regular bird-walks within the mature grounds, giving you a valuable opportunity to learn from his in-depth knowledge and experience.

There are many places within the grounds where you can just sit and relax under the shade of the yellow-barked acacias.

Each evening a camp fire blazes in the fire pit adjacent to the bar which adds so much to the safari evening ambience.

Members of the Maasai tribe give regular performances of their traditional songs and dances and this is the perfect opportunity to photograph these proud people in their ethnic costume.
