Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge nestles on the side of a plateau overlooking Lake Nakuru 167 km (104 mi) north-west of Nairobi in the Great Rift Valley.

It is set inconspicuously amid mature acacias and is designed so that most rooms command good views across to the lake. The lodge blends inconspicuously into the wooded landscape.

The lake is famous for being the home of a million flamingos that spend the daylight hours filter-feeding on the nutritious plankton in the shallow water at the edges of the lake.

From a distance these massed flocks give the lake edge a pink shimmer. This is a truly awe-inspiring sight that has a visual impact guaranteed to leave an enduring memory of your visit here.

The lodge has 64 very comfortable rooms, all en-suite and well-appointed. Seven pairs of rooms have interconnecting doors making them ideal family accommodation. Also, there are 3 large luxury suites available at a premium.

Enjoy a sundowner in the Rift Valley Bar as you watch the African sun sink behind the hills beyond the lake. This gives an excellent opportunity to capture some stunning images of the sunset with your camera.

The Flamingo Restaurant offers excellent cuisine and fine wines. Fresh vegetables are supplied from the lodge’s own kitchen garden.

Eat in the restaurant or on the large patio area with its vistas to the lake. Entertainment is provided  by traditional music and dance and also a talented guitarist singing popular, easy-listening vocals.
