Voi Safari Lodge
Set into a cliff-face in the immensity of the Tsavo East savannah, Voi Safari Lodge blends sympathetically into its surroundings. It is just off the main Nairobi to Mombasa highway, 360 km (224 mi) from Nairobi.
It provides wonderful vistas across the plains and has the advantage of overlooking a natural water-hole frequented by many species of wildlife, from elephants and buffalo to cranes and weavers.
During dry periods, the water-hole attracts animals from far and wide. At all times of the day and night, there is a steady stream of wildlife visiting the life-giving water.
The lodge is built on several levels and each one makes a marvellous viewing platform.
It has an excellent tunnel hide reached by a long series of steps, from which you will get really close-up views of animals at the water-hole.
From this concealed vantage point, you will have terrific opportunities of capturing some great close-up shots with your camera without the need for a giant telephoto lens.
Views from the two restaurants are amazing, allowing you to scan the vastness of the plains while you enjoy the fine cuisine. The comprehensive menus include dishes to tempt every palate. There are two well-stocked bars also offering wonderfully expansive views.
The 52 rooms are all en-suite and all afford panoramic views across the savannah. Even whilst cooling-off in the swimming pool, you can still enjoy the wonderful vistas.
The Voi Safari Lodge also offers a gymnasium, sauna, spa and massage facilities to complement your wildlife viewing.
All this awaits you in the incredible environment of Tsavo East National Park.
