Itinerary 8 – RASABI Western Lakes Safari

Itinerary 8 – Duration 13 Days – Rasabi Western Lakes Safari

Outspan – Samburu – Lake Nakuru – Lake Baringo – Lake Bogoria – Kakamega Forest – Lake Victoria – Maasai Mara

Day 1 – Nairobi to Outspan

Your Safari Guide will meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi.
You will be driven to the Outspan Hotel (160 kilometres / 99 miles) situated in Nyeri.
Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at Outspan Hotel. Alternatively transfer to the world renown Treetops Hotel for Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 – Outspan to Samburu

After breakfast you travel to Samburu National Park (179 km / 111 mi).
Lunch at the Samburu Ashnil Camp situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River.
Afternoon game-drive and return to Samburu Ashnil Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 – Samburu

After breakfast, experience a full day game-drive in the Samburu National Reserve.
Picnic style lunch in the bush or return to the Camp for lunch
Return to Samburu Ashnil Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
There will be an opportunity to visit a local Samburu village where you will be introduced to the customs and culture of this semi-nomadic pastoral tribe.

Day 4 – Samburu to Lake Nakuru

After an early breakfast you depart for the Great Rift Valley and to Lake Nakuru (287 km / 178 mi).
Lunch at Lake Nakuru Sarova Lion Hill Lodge followed by an afternoon game-drive.
Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

Day 5 – Lake Nakuru to Lake Baringo

After breakfast you travel to the Lake Baringo (130 km / 81 mi).
Lunch at the Sun City Hotel followed by an afternoon boat trip on the lake to view the wildlife including a great number of crocodiles.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Sun City Hotel.

Day 6 – Lake Baringo to Lake Bogoria

Breakfast and then journey to Lake Bogoria (53 km / 33 mi) set in an active volcanic landscape with hot geysers.
Lunch at the Bogoria Spa Hotel and then take a Leisurely drive back to Lake Baribgo.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Sun City Hotel.

Day 7 – Lake Bogoria to Kakamega Rain Forest

An early breakfast and then travel to the world famous Kakamega Rain Forest (231 km / 144 mi).
Lunch at Rondo Retreat Centre and then an afternoon exploring the amazing diversity of creatures inhabiting the rain forest.
Dinner and overnight stay at Rondo Retreat Centre.

Day 8 – Kakamega Rain Forest to Lake Victoria

Breakfast and then travel to Lake Victoria (61 km / 38 mi) The lake is known by the local tribes as Lake Sango.
Lunch at the Sunset Hotel on the shores of the lake in the city of Kisumu.
An afternoon trip to the Impala Sanctuary and animal orphanage. Boats trips on the lake are also available.
Dinner and overnight stay at Sunset Hotel.


Day 9 – Lake Victoria

Full day in Kisumu with excusions to Ndere Island, historical Kit Mikai and Kobama Village. Optional fishing and boat ride at the Lake. Overnight at Sunset Hotel / the Hippo Point Beach.

Day 10 – Lake Victoria to Maasai Mara

At 6.30am after breakfast, depart with picnic lunch to vastness of the Maasai Mara  game reserve to Mara Serena Lodge (324 km / 201 mi) for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 11 – Mara Serena Lodge to Mara Sarova Game Lodge

Breakfast followed by a game-drive en-route to the Mara Sarova Game Lodge.
Lunch at the Lodge and then an afternoon game-drive.
Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sarova Game Lodge.

Day 12 – Maasai Mara

Another amazing full day to experience the wonder and majesty of the Maasai Mara.
Lunch at the Lodge and then an afternoon game-drive.
Dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sarova Game Lodge.

Day 13 – Maasai Mara to Nairobi

After breakfast a final game-drive through the Maasai Mara en-route to Nairobi (288 km / 179 mi).
Your Safari Guide will escort you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
